Unit 1 Task 3 SHUTTER SPEED

Image
SHUTTER SPEED - or exposure time is the length of time that the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light.                                                                    5" f25 ISO 3200 London double-decker bus painted by light. Lights on the bus were on which allowed me to blur the vehicle to the point it looks like a light trail. Used tripod. Taking this picture on Shutter priority mode - I realised that the auto aperture was f25 but in  Aperture Priority mode I can choose the smallest f22, in Manual mode f29 (AC 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2)                                                                      4" f25 ISO 6400  This picture has a personal meaning to me. I have used a long exposure technique and tripod to make streetlights look like all three are on. This image represents to me the confusion and the chaos of a morning school run. My youngest son has an anxiety disorder and getting out of

Unit 1 Task 2 APERTURE - Depth of Field

Image
APERTURE     -  Depth of field.  Selective focus. Determinates how much of the image is in focus. Aperture can be defined as the opening in a lens through which light passes to enter the camera. It is expressed in f-numbers like f/1.4, f/2, f/2.8 and so on to express the size of the lens opening.                                                                      f4.0 1/13 ISO 100                                                                    f22 2" ISO100                                                                         f22 0"6 ISO400                                                                   f4.0 1/60 ISO 400                                                                   f22 1/6 ISO100                                                                 f4.0 1/50 ISO 100                                                                      f4  1/50 ISO 100

Unit 1 Task 1 Street Photographers Research

Image
George Georgiou          - creator of London 'micro-dramas'.  The essence of Last Stop Project is that you might take the same route every day but what you see, the ebb and flow on the street takes on a random nature, like a series of fleeting mini soap operas.    I am drawn to this picture because of its aesthetically pleasing symmetry.         The way some people live on London street.   Is it a 'service area' or is your dirty mind playing tricks on you? I feel like I went back to 90s when kids have no mobile phones and would have to queue to phone boxes. Are they pranking people or calling a drug dealer? Last Stop was entirely crowd-funded, it is a remarkable photographic assessment of London, taken from the perspective of the city’s iconic buses.  "In 2008, I decided to take a few random bus rides to see what London was like. It took me 5 years. Suddenly I just thought London was a completely different story for me because thi
